Get paid for archival skill
Collectors, galleries, and auction houses pool real money to learn who painted the works they own. If you can work a newspaper archive, a civil registry, or an auction database, that pot is yours to earn — no credentials gate, no application. Your published research record here is the credential.
Pick a pot worth your time
Browse artists by pot size. The discussion thread shows what's already been tried; requests state exactly what the owners want to know.
Coordinate or compete
Work solo, or team up in the open thread and declare payout splits when you submit — collaborators are paid directly by the platform per the declared shares.
Submit with sources
Findings need citations (see the research standards). Pledgers see your abstract and source counts; the full text unlocks only for pledgers whose payment hold has been placed — nobody reads your work without being on the hook for it.
Get paid, get credited
Approvals — including the 5-day auto-approval when pledgers go quiet — capture the pot. You receive a flat 80% via Stripe (2–4 business days), and your name stays on the published biography permanently.
Protection against rip-offs: full research is escrow-gated — readable only by pledgers whose card hold succeeded, watermarked, and silence auto-captures after 5 days. A pledger who reads and disputes in bad faith faces a moderator who has the full text and your response in front of them, and repeat bad-faith disputers lose pledging privileges.
Payouts require Stripe identity verification (US, UK, EU, Switzerland, and Canada at launch). You can research first and onboard when your first payout is waiting.
